History of Babci's Buttons Thank you for your interest in Beth Sullivan Designs (formerly Babci's Buttons). The original name “Babci’s Buttons” (pronounced bob'-chee) comes from a box of buttons that my grandmother, my “Babci”, gave to my mother who then gave to me. I took the buttons, picked out my favorites and sewed them onto a quilt (Shown at the right). My Babci would have been proud that her buttons are now in use decorating the wall of my house. She was a wonderful soul who never wasted anything of value. Her creativity and use of materials inspired me to dedicate my business to her. Sadly, the name was a bit unwieldy so the business name has since changed to Beth Sullivan Designs.

About Beth Sullivan I started quilting in 1999 by taking an adult education course. I loved that I could take fabrics, cut them up, sew them back together and make something beautiful - just by cutting and sewing straight lines! I met Terri Vadenais, the proprietor of Quilt Center in Bellingham, MA who became a close friend and propelled me on to designing and teaching quilting classes. When my daughter Lucy was born in 2003 I resigned my first grade teaching position and started my quilting business in an effort to stay home with her. In the process, I got my mother involved making bibs and "Gramchi's Bibs" was born. Now I travel to area craft fairs, teach quilting classes and am working on my own line of pattern designs in addition to making customer quilts. In May of 2007 my husband and I were blessed with twins Nina and Mitchell who are my new "bib testers."
